Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

This site is operated by Barton Anderson. It is a small site with one purpose: to explain my work and let you get in touch. This page describes exactly what it collects, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • Analytics are off unless you allow them, and stay off if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
  • If you send a message, I keep what you wrote so I can reply.
  • I do not sell or rent personal information, and this site does not run advertising or advertising trackers.

Messages you send

The contact form asks for your name, email address, what you are working on, and a message. When you submit it, that information is stored on a server I operate and a notification containing it is emailed to me so I can respond.

If you have allowed optional analytics, the submission also includes how you first and most recently arrived at the site (for example the referring website, search engine, AI assistant, or campaign link, and the page you landed on). This helps me understand which channels lead to real conversations. If you have not allowed analytics, none of this is collected or sent.

I use your message only to respond to you and to keep a record of our correspondence. I do not add you to a mailing list.

Optional analytics

With your permission, the site loads Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, which pages are read, and interactions such as form submissions, downloads, and clicks to scheduling or project links. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga.

Before you choose, Google Analytics is not loaded at all.

If you decline, or later change your mind, analytics are switched off, existing _ga cookies are removed, and stored arrival information is deleted from your browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stay off and cannot be enabled.

You can at any time.

Storage in your browser

The site stores two small items in your browser's local storage: your analytics choice, so you are not asked on every visit, and, only if you allowed analytics, your arrival information described above. Clearing your browser's site data removes both.

Server logs and security

Like most websites, the web server records basic request information such as IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring page, and the time. These logs are used to keep the site secure and working, to identify abusive traffic, and to verify which search and AI crawlers visit. They are rotated and deleted on a regular schedule.

To limit spam, the contact form briefly uses your IP address to rate-limit repeated submissions. This is held in memory only and is not saved with your message.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics, only if you allow it.
  • Calendly, if you choose to book a call. Calendly handles that booking under its own privacy policy.
  • YouTube and my product websites, when you follow a link to them. Those sites have their own policies.
  • An email provider, which delivers contact-form notifications to me.

Your choices and requests

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the messages and information you have sent through this site. Send the request through the contact form and I will respond.

Children

This site is intended for business visitors and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
